About me
Italian-Swiss Cinematic Portrait
I am an Italian-Swiss film director, screenwriter, and producer based in Geneva. My work explores social and psychological human themes through character-driven fiction shaped by narrative tension and emotional depth.
I began my directing career in 2019 with Puzzle, a horror short film that received 14 festival selections and multiple awards. My subsequent film, Souvenirs d’Enfance, was awarded a Méliès d’Argent, qualifying for the European Fantastic Film Awards.
In 2024, my drama Dernier Round was broadcast on Swiss national television (RTS) and received six awards across international festivals. In 2025, I released 2XL, a speculative fiction fable continuing my exploration of identity and human complexity through genre cinema.
Alongside my directing work, I co-founded Backpack Pictures and later joined In.somnia Studios, where I develop and produce short and feature-length projects screened at festivals and broadcast on Swiss national television (RTS).
I am currently developing several fiction projects as a writer, director, and producer.

Reviews

Fern TV
“Vincenzo Aiello gets your imagination running just like his main character who solves the puzzle to its final piece. Puzzle is brilliant and a blueprint for the horror films of the future.”

Belgrade International Film Festival
“We find the “Last Round” as a very professionally done film, that is one of the best pictures we considered so far in the “Best Short Film” section. Impressive, very impressive!”

Tribune de Genève
“Vincenzo Aiello needs only a few minutes to create atmosphere, evoke unease or fear, and play with the audience’s nerves”
